Inspired by J.S.Bach's beautiful Aria "Erbarme Dich, main Gott" and the Gospel of Matthew, this piece is made as a contemporary ballet performed by 3 female artists (premiered at Detroit in 2021). Using symbolic gestural movements and cultural theme, "A poem written at the Cross" is presented within aesthetic atmosphere but with sadness. This ballet metaphorically reflects a painful paradox of modern people in contemporary society as if, in the Bible, Peter's lament after having denied knowing Jesus three times. “A poem written at the Cross” can be diversely interpreted by points of view with trans-cultural perspective today in a globalized world beyond religious aspect.
J.S.Bach의 아름다운 아리아 "Erbarme Dich, main Gott"와 마태복음에서 영감을 받아 창작된 현대 발레 작품이다. 2021년 미국 디트로이트 댄스 페스티벌에서 초연 되었으며 상징적인 몸짓과 문화적 주제를 사용하여 '십자가에 쓴 시'를 미학적인 분위기로 표현하고 있지만 움직임 속에 애절함을 안고 있다. 작품은 예수님을 세 번이나 부인한 베드로가 성경에 나오는 한탄처럼 현대 사회를 살아가는 현대인의 고통스러운 역설을 은유적으로 반영하고 있다. “십자가에 달린 시”는 오늘날 종교적인 측면을 넘어 세계화된 세계의 초문화적 시각으로 다양한 관점으로 해석될 수 있다.
